 Peter Schmeichel is one of the greatest football stars to grace the football pitch. But what lies behind the man when he's not being watched by the eyes of a thousand fans? Peter Schmeichel has got himself a reputation of being arrogant off the pitch. People who have met him have found him less than friendly. However, Peter is someone who values his private life and would prefer to go unrecognized when he's not working. The fame that comes with playing for Manchester United and Denmark means that time to himself in the public is limited. It's fair that he should wish to preserve this time. Peter is a big music fan and is a true piano master who can play anything from Bach to Beethoven and beyond. His musical talents don't end there, he's familiar with a variety of instruments. He doesn't have any problems grasping a guitar and is a whizz on the drums. His musical ability led him to release a CD in Denmark for the European Championships of 1996. He played most of the instruments and even sang as an accompaniment to Gry Luka. Peter is married to Bente and has two children, Kasper and Cecille. Kasper is a keen footballer and has been known to hurl abuse at other players on the pitch at times (just like his dad!) He walked onto the pitch with Peter during the Euro '96 competition as a mascot for Denmark.
